dc.description.abstract The energy generation of photo-voltaic system varies due to variation in load and environmental conditions such as temperature and irradiance. The efficiency of PV systems can be improved by the controllers used for maximum power point tracking (MPPT). The PV systems are nonlinear in nature so nonlinear controllers are more suitable for MPPT applications. This paper proposes double integral sliding mode controller (DISMC) to extract maximum power from PV array using SEPIC converter. The regression plane has been formulated to provide peak power voltage for MPPT. The reachability and stability conditions are considered while designing the controller to produce robustness and stability. The simulations of DISMC are performed in MATLAB/SIMULINK, where the results are compared with PID controller, Fuzzy Logic-based controller (FLBC) and single integral sliding mode controller (ISMC) under immediate changes of environmental conditions. en_US
