Abstract:
Pakistan is also a victim of this globally emerging cyber security threat. With growing number
of cyber incidents, there is an utter need for a system that can overcome this problem and
provide a safer cyber environment to the people. In Pakistan the extent of use of cyber space
by people, business and government has reached to a level where no existing organization has
the capability to secure cyber space of Pakistan. Pakistan need to form an exclusive security
team called National Computer Emergency Response Team, PK-CERT. CSIRT is a team of IT
security experts whose main business is to respond to computer security incidents. It is a service
organization responsible for receiving, reviewing and responding to computer security
incidents reports and activities. The team provides the necessary services to handle such
incidents and to support their constituents to recover from computer security breaches. A
managerial frame for PK-CERT is proposed. It’s a step by step procedure to develop PK-CERT
with different stages and challenges.
