Abstract:
Most of the projects in public sector organizations of Pakistan fail to complete within budget,
time and scope. The failure of projects on regular basis is causing a huge loss to the
government of Pakistan and it has affected the economy of Pakistan. Pakistan is facing
financial crises and cannot afford the failure of projects at national level.
In order to increase the rate of success of projects, we need to analyze the causes of failure
and find out the critical success factors. This is precisely the aim of this thesis. With the help
of surveys, author has found major causes of failure of projects and critical success factors and
he then designed and formulated a model which, if implemented in the public sector
organizations, can improve the rate of success to a great extent.
