Abstract:
The aim of this dissertation is to analyze the emerging research literature on
eLearning and evaluate students‘ perception about measures taken for implementation of
eLearning by Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) and their willingness to adopt it for learning.
Today‘s competitive environment has sometimes resulted in paradigm shift due to the rapidly
changing circumstances. In any learning process there are three stakeholders the learner the
educator and the institute. Globalization and technological advancement have led to intense
competitions resulting in a matter of survival for the students in particular and the teachers
and institution in general. Students need to be more change responsive due to everyday
changing information and communication technologies as well as globalized economies.
Leading national and multinational organizations are emphasizing on eLearning to keep pace
with latest trends in order to remain competitive and this is predominantly true for Higher
Education Institutions.
In this thesis, survey of students from public and private sector was performed and
through statistical analysis of questionnaire it was found that students have a positive opinion
towards adoption of eLearning whereas HEIs are not putting in as much efforts as students
identify they should. The study will help HEIs in their implementation endeavors and
ascertain students‘ mindset.
