dc.description.abstract Spyware is an internet jargon for advertising supported software and it is a way for shareware authors to make money with almost negligible investment. Most of the advertising companies also install additional tracking software on the customer's machines which are continuously calling home using internet connection and machine cycles and report personal and statistical data to the mother-ship, which is like a live server sitting on the machine and sending information about the customer and its surfing habits to a remote location (which is against the ethics and accredited privacy policy). Spy Detective System detects and removes adware and spyware from the machines on which it is installed and also features a real time protection that alerts when potential danger arises, stopping most spywares before they can even install themselves. The system includes a verity of security paradigms that acts as bodyguard to protect areas of the system that are commonly used by middle ware to hijack system settings, add menu items, change home page, modify hostfile etc. In addition spy detective system includes a mechanism to protect the registry entries, explore advanced system settings, auto database updates and scheduled scans. en_US
