dc.description.abstract DIGITAL DRIVER PANEL OF TANK AL-KHALID By MAJOR MUHAMMAD SHAHID In Tank AI-Khalid, the present driver panel is purely an analog unit that displays various parameters of the tank on analog instruments. These instruments are costly, occupy large space, have reduced accuracy and are prone to frequent failures. Moreover. in tallation pr c dur f th in trument into the tank is complicated and time consuming. The idea of changing the exi ting analog driver panel into digital driver panel has been conceived and impl mented. A hardware unit ha been developed that converts anal g ignal from variou en ors to digital. oftware module in a computer processes thi data and end it to a raphical U er Interface (GUI) based display. The GUT gives the ame feel to th driver a if he i looking at the analog gauges. The new system meets the requirement of higher accuracy and reliability, better space management. enhanced observation and lesser installation/maintenance cost. en_US
