dc.description.abstract Biological compounds like dopamine (DA) depict a crucial role in food, clinical and human metabolism. Abnormalities in DA concentration lead to serious disorders, hence, requires an efficient sensor for its detection. A highly selective and sensitive electrochemical sensor for DA is prepared by modification of PGE with selenium and silver nanoparticles. XRD, SEM and EDX were used to characterize the prepared samples. Herein, we report the modification of PGE with Se nanostructures (Se/PGE) via CBD technique and a simple solvothermal method for deposition of Ag nanoparticles (Ag/Se/PGE). The Ag/Se/PGE exhibited selective electro catalytic performance for DA sensing. Ag/Se/PGE exhibited a stable amperometry results up to 0.001uM DA concentration. In addition, Ag/Se/PGE displayed a negligible response to interferents like ascorbic acid, glucose, NaCl, citric acid at the selected applied potential. en_US
