dc.description.abstract The accessibility and use of the internet is increasing, causing people to become internet addicts. Previously, Studies have shown that many people are becoming addicted to social media due to the excessive time they spend on these platforms. In Pakistan, students are actively engaged in using social media, and there is a noticeable observation that young individuals, especially university students, often experience loneliness. This study aims to discover how using social media is connected to feelings of loneliness. Study is conducted in Pakistan on the student at different universities in Islamabad. The study included 404 students who took part from several different universities. Using SPSS for analysis, a significant positive relationship was found between social media usage and feelings of loneliness. While the strength of the relationship was moderate, the study primarily emphasizes that females tend to experience more loneliness compared to males. en_US
