Social media usage is now increasing many folds due to the advancement in
technology and increased globalization. The ease it brings to human life costs us some
repercussions. Unchecked non-productive and excessive usage of social media is now
impacting our lives at a riskier level. People started believing the unrealistic self created social media life as the ultimate reality and so further molding their lifestyle
according to this artificial social media reality. The comparison made by people with
others over social media makes them more conscious of their own life leading them
towards their efforts of bringing change in their own life in order to cope with the
unrealistic social media life. Once these self-conscious feelings take over the human
mind, people start to adopt any possible ways to feel confident in themselves. This
confidence is considered to be obtained by reaching close to perfection which is self created and materialistic. Slim curved body shape is idealized and liked for females
by most people over social media so girls are specifically inclined to have fitness and
slimming craze so that they can like more over social media. This leads to eating
disorders damaging the internal system as well. All these efforts make people paranoid
of social media usage forcing them to have a belief of perceiving the use of social
media as essential for their survival in this self-created artificial social media world. |
