It is experienced that identification process used in Pakistan is very time consuming and full of loopholes through which forgery is easily possible. Over 10,000 vehicles are stolen across Pakistan each year according to Police figures [1]. The Excise and Taxation (EnT) department of Pakistan is unable to handle the records of stolen, missing and expired vehicles. They are having problems in keeping the tracks of the cars along with the detailed information. The government of Pakistan is getting trouble with these stolen vehicles because these vehicles are then used in many criminal activities. This problem can best be solved by implementing a long range high frequency reader and antenna and by automating the vehicle record. This will minimize thefts, reduce labor and increase system productivity.
The software application is successfully completed and tested according to the requirements of Nadra but after changing in the requirements i-e to develop the project in VC++ 6.0 as a programming platform for this project. The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) data is being successfully collected from Nadra DB and written electrically on the RF Tags. Also the reading of RFID Tag is effectively achieved hence, tested.
All the above mentioned features necessary for the automatic identification and tracking motor vehicles are available in the RFID application. The application is window based using Client Server architecture and the development is in Visual C++ 6.0 version. Currently the application is only scalable for the use Nadra Environment. |
