Abstract:
As we all are familiar with the current energy crises which is being faced by people all over the world. With the drastic increase in population energy demand has sky rocketed as well. So some factors which have increased the interest in renewable energy sources are depletion of fossil fuel and increasing environmental concern. Algae are a diverse group of aquatic organisms that have the ability to conduct photosynthesis which is further classified into macro and micro algae. Due to its many potential, it is widely used as a renewable energy resource. Our project aims for the tertiary treatment of secondary treated wastewater through the growth of algae on secondary treated wastewater and to enhance the biogas production through co-digestion by using algae as a main substrata and food waste as another substrate and also to study the effect of different ratio of Microalgae and food waste on the production of biogas.
