Abstract:
In a networked society, we can determine various reasons behind the food choices of our population by a thorough study of restaurant reviews on social media and different websites. Social media sites like Yelp provides opportunities to its users to share their views regarding their food choices because a very little is known about what consumers discuss about food and the related health issues on social media. In this research we analyze the health related reviews given in Yelp for recommendations of restaurants. We design a framework which uses health related cues from health believe model for analysis of reviews. We also propose a qualitative analysis which defines different keywords. The proposed system categorizes components for healthy food choices, extracts specific key words, and groups those categories, based on consumer reviews. It makes effective cues to action and relates them with restaurant recommendation. The evaluation of our framework has been done on 600 reviews from Yelp. The proposed framework may ultimately lead to better and healthy food choices by consumers and may assist them to select restaurant based on their preferences.
