dc.description.abstract |
Child neglect and abuse (CAN) is a complex and a widespread issue with multifaceted consequences. Despite its global significance and effective recognition, the implementation of solutions in the context of Pakistan, have been largely overlooked. This study delves into the diverse essence of CAN, incorporating perspectives from parents, teachers, and law enforcement agencies to assess its prevalence in Rawalpindi. Additionally, the research evaluates the role and mandate of the National Commission on the Rights of a Child in area of child protection. By analyzing CAN through the lenses of parents and teachers, this study seeks to provide a comprehensive understanding of the issue. The research explores various types of child abuse and neglect, including physical, emotional, sexual, and educational neglect, to comprehend the full spectrum of challenges faced by children in Rawalpindi. The research involves both qualitative and quantitative methods of analyzing data by consulting the key stakeholders involved in children's lives, such as parents and teachers, the study aims to capture a holistic view of the experiences and concerns surrounding child neglect and abuse, Facilitating a deeper comprehension of this pressing societal issue within the Pakistani context. |
