dc.description.abstract | This thesis project deals with the commemoration and memorialization of the events of the partition of the subcontinent in 1947 on a human level. The intent is to create a space that can house an existing narrative: one told through the memories of those directly affected. Architecture is the most lasting way to preserve history, thus this endeavor aims to create a space that will house the collective memories of many thousands of people and ensure that the trials suffered by the common man are remembered by all and the stories that so many of us have grown up hearing are not lost forever to the ravages of time, but instead preserved for the generations to come. | en_US |
