Abstract:
This thesis explores the significance of attaining spatial comfort and livability in a shared architectural space, through the translation of synergy/symbiosis in architecture. The thesis focuses particularly on providing a venue for showjumpers from all over the country.
With the goal of designing a space that promotes community building for equestrians, we take a look at the existing equestrian community in Punjab today. Comparative analysis with the international context is then used to formulate a strategy for the enrichment of the equestrian culture in our local setting of Islamabad.
An evaluation of site and context ecology are also influenced by the cycles of program/activity, leading to the development of ecological design solutions that allow the project to harmlessly exist within its setting. The end product is a design for an equestrian training and event facility that combines the core equestrian sector with the supply sector, offering innovation, technology and services all in one place.
