Abstract:
Entrepreneurship can be generally perceived as the essential driver of economic
growth and job creation. It is known to significantly contribute to the over-all wellbeing of the
society and an important ingredient of business education environment of present time.
Pakistan has been a part of major entrepreneurial growth since few decades, and women
entrepreneurs are being regarded as the new growth engine of socio-economic development.
However, women face numerous challenges while starting a business professionally and due
to this, the number of women owned businesses in home has increased drastically but has
also introduced various challenges for them impacting the entrepreneurial women
community.
This thesis aims to explore how architecture can help nurture
the women entrepreneurial community and empower these women to work, develop
entrepreneurial skills, exhibit, and exchange ideas creating a healthy business environment
that fosters community development. Collection of statistical and quantitative data has been
used to analyse the whole scenario and make better design decisions that can help
reimagine work, educational and exhibition spaces and cater the various needs of these
women thus improving entrepreneurial conditions for them.
