dc.description.abstract The art of comics and comic con has been an underlying and neglected part of the culture of Pakistan for the past 73 years while the enthusiasts are still unappreciated or discouraged to exhibit their enthusiasm and nurture their skillset due to lack of acceptance and a permanent platform. The aim of the thesis is to discover the needs of these comic enthusiasts and provide a platform for them to learn, practice and display their skills and passion concurrently raising awareness in general public regarding this art form. For achieving this I will explore the design elements of developing a comic which are quite similar to those that are used to develop architecture; the plot i.e. the built design, the characters i.e. the user groups, the setting i.e. the context around the built design. Together with these design elements and the methodologies of sequentiality, layering and framing, the program will consist of an academy for mix media studies with a special emphasis upon the subjects of comic studies and a collection of galleries which takes the user upon a journey of narratives through the art of comics. Simultaneously, people will be stimulated towards acceptance of this art form by indulging into hands on experience on site into various activities. This will help aspiring comic enthusiasts to enhance and polish their skills and provide an interactive space to share their thoughts. It will also help us get a step closer to the development of the existing industry of the comic arts in Pakistan. en_US
