dc.description.abstract In order to streamline the complex processes involved in converting electrical to optical and optical to electrical in FSO systems, this work presents the application of DS EDFA, which uses erbium-doped fiber amplifiers for amplification. The article explores the benefits of an all-optical approach, in contrast to previous studies that concentrated on electrically amplified relays. Two identical EDFAs positioned back-to-back with an interstage Gaussian optical filter make up the DS-EDFA arrangement. The bit-error-rate (BER) performance of the suggested DS-EDFA system is assessed by simulation tests employing OptiSystem in a dual-hop FSO communication scenario. The outcomes show that DS-EDFA performs better in terms of BER when power is limited, which makes it a viable and energy-efficient option for FSO systems. The investigation also looks at how various bandwidths affect the performance of DS-EDFA, and bandwidth 30 is found to be the best choice for very tight power limitations. The DS-EDFA configuration presented in this study offers important new insights into the design and optimization of FSO systems. The results demonstrate its benefits, including enhanced BER performance at lower power levels, which make it an appealing option for communication solutions that save energy. Additionally, the study highlights how adaptable DS-EDFA is across a wider range of power regimes and sheds light on the advantages and challenges of implementing it in FSO systems. en_US
