Abstract:
Because of challenges with burning fossil fuels as an energy source and as a means of
reducing global gas emissions, renewable energy sources has grown in demand in recent
years. As a result, renewable energy has become the majority of energy-related research.
However, most of the energy sources produce low voltage electricity for effective
transmission. To synchronize the sourced electricity with the grid, step-up voltage
converters with extremely high voltage are required. Furthermore, because the efficiency
and reliability of conventional boost converters decline as the switch duty increases. It
suffers from high voltage which might damage the load. SEPIC converters which is the
modification of buck-boost converter implies more efficiency and less output ripple. So,
this project is about the implementation of SEPIC converters by keeping its advantages
in view. To improve gain and reduce ripples in output, we have used mathematical
modeling which is mentioned in the project report. Then, the controller is designed for
feedback loop to achieve constant output voltage. Simulation is performed in PROTEUS
and result is validated by implementation on PCB. Furthermore, by hardware
implementation of converter and controller, results are being verified.
