In the society in which we live, there are numerous social issues that we face today. One of the most
pressing issues is the farming system in Pakistan. Farmers encounter significant challenges in managing
records of their crops due to the persistence of outdated record-keeping techniques and analytics tools.
These shortcomings prevent them from effectively predicting crop growth patterns and analyzing their
crop data comprehensively.
The "Pak Kasaan" project appears to be a significant development aimed at addressing various chal lenges in the agriculture industry and supporting farmers in their endeavors. The project recognizes that
there are issues within the agriculture industry that need to be resolved. These issues might include
challenges related to crop management, resource allocation, decision-making, and potentially others.
Identifying and addressing these issues is crucial for the growth and sustainability of the agriculture
sector. The emphasis on "data-driven analysis" indicates that the platform likely leverages data, such as
weather data, soil quality data, and historical crop performance data, to provide insights and recom mendations to farmers. Data-driven decision-making can help farmers optimize their farming practices
and resource utilization. Our project is a comprehensive platform for data driven analysis and decision
making covering multiple crops like wheat, rice, corn, watermelon , sugarcane and mustard available as
both a web and mobile application (compatible with Android and iOS), designed to aid farmers in their
professional endeavors.
"Pak Kasaan" provides farmers with a platform to document their expenses and sales, which, in turn,
enables them to analyze the performance of their crops in an organized and insightful manner. While
there are many applications that offer various facilities to farmers, these existing solutions often fall
short of providing advanced analytics and accurate insights into crop growth. Traditionally, farmers
have kept records in Excel sheets or on paper, methods that are far from ideal. Such practices do not
allow farmers to view their statistics in a detailed and convenient manner. Furthermore, there has been
a notable absence of a dedicated mobile application or website for farmers to maintain comprehensive
records of each crop, whether concerning costs or sales, and to visualize proper statistics for the cost or sales data annually.
Our solution, "Pak Kasaan," will empower farmers to mark their crop locations and closely monitor
crop performance. They will receive advanced analytics for both expenses and sales, eliminating the
need to calculate these figures manually for each crop year after year. This Solution fulfils 5v’s of big
data as data has value as we are gathering crops record, velocity as multiple records will be added in a
day, Veracity as data that is collected is relevant, variety as we have have gathered different type data
including kml files and volume as data will be in large size. Additionally, we will be gathering crop
images through satellite monitoring and performing data cleaning. This initiative will not only help
farmers in the present but will also create a valuable dataset that future agricultural professionals can use
to further improve crop maintenance and health. In summary, "Pak Kasaan" is designed to offer farmers ease of use, streamlined access to important data,
and support for sustainable growth in their operations. |
