Abstract:
The untapped potential of hydropower energy in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province, Pakistan, presents a significant challenge to sustainable energy development. This study conducts a preliminary feasibility assessment to identify suitable locations for runoff river hydropower projects within KPK. Leveraging advanced geospatial tools such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, and satellite imagery data, the research aims to identify sites where sufficient head and discharge are available. The findings contribute to the identification of potential sites for hydropower development, providing valuable insights into sustainable energy options for the region's development.
