dc.description.abstract This report presents an innovative approach to enhancing project performance in Pakistan's construction industry by integrating Lean Construction principles with Building Information Modeling (BIM). The main objective is to develop a semi-automated Lean-BIM Model to improve construction productivity and efficiency while minimizing waste and resources. The research commences with a comprehensive literature review, identifying key factors for Lean-BIM integration in Pakistan's construction industry. Through statistical analysis and a survey involving nearly 80 construction professionals, ten major factors are identified, guiding the integration of lean principles in a BIM environment. Following feasibility analysis, five top-performing lean principles are shortlisted for the development of the semi-automated LeanBIM model. This model is intended for integration with BIM features and tools like Revit, Dynamo, Power BI, and Navisworks, enabling real-time coordination and simultaneous access by all stakeholders to the centralized model. Changes are reflected in real-time, emphasizing cost-effectiveness through the use of free plugins like Speckle for Power BI and Revit integration, and alternative solutions such as Revit local file sharing via Google Drive. By integrating lean principles and BIM features, the model aims to optimize resource utilization, reduce waiting times, and enhance efficiency and productivity of construction teams. This approach holds promise for widespread adoption within Pakistan's construction industry, leading to economic savings and improved project performance. Future work will focus on refining the model further, integrating advanced AI concepts, and assessing its implementation across various construction projects.
