Abstract:
In road construction, knowing the thickness of each layer of the road is very important. Traditionally, measuring these layers took a lot of time and work. People had to do it by hand, which sometimes led to mistakes or even changed data. Usually, a site inspector would check on the progress by asking surveyors for updates. This old way of checking could cause delays and mistakes. To solve these problems, a new method has been introduced using drones. These drones take pictures from the air, which helps in predicting the layers of the road. This new approach is based on a smart model called YOLO, which has been trained at different construction sites to get better results. The drone pictures help in creating detailed 3D maps, known as point clouds. These maps are then used to measure the volume of the layers and accurately. To make sure the data is safe and correct, strong security measures have been put in place. This means there is less chance of losing or tempering of data. This new way of using drones and advanced software changes how road construction projects are managed. It makes measuring road layers faster and more accurate. This technology is a big step forward in building better roads.
