Abstract:
Durability is a cornerstone of structural integrity, ensuring that buildings and infrastructure remain safe, functional, and visually appealing throughout their lifespan. The significance of durability lies in its ability to safeguard against structural failure and maintain safety standards.
There are several techniques which help to analyze the durability of any concrete like Acid Attack test, Rapid chloride penetration test and Freeze and thaw test. In this paper the Acid Attack Technique is utilized to get the information about the specific concrete known as Nano Lime Calcined clay Engineered Cementitious Composite and it is noted that the percentage of weight reduction for specimens immersed in 5% hydrochloric acid is 0.62%, 1.05%, and 1.57% after 7, 14, and 28 days respectively and accordingly collect all the results of different percentages of Sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid. It is also noted that the percentage of strength reduction for specimens immersed in 5% Sulfuric acid is 4.73%, 12.96%, and 20.99% after 7, 14, and 28 days respectively and accordingly collect all the results of different percentages of Sulfuric acid and hydrochloric acid.
The serviceability and economic viability of the concrete are two important parameters which dictates that’s whether the concrete is feasible to use in the project or not and to check the economic viability the one of the best techniques is to compare the cost of two models one is made of ordinary concrete and other made of high strength concrete (like Nano Lime Calcined clay Engineered Cementitious Composite nLC3-ECC) using BIM technology like Etabs. By comparing models, an average of 17.5% reduction in area of steel along with 18% reduction in cross-section for shear walls is achieved. Also, the overall material cost for the shear walls is reduce by 12.9%
