Abstract:
Conventional methods for designing a building structure are error-prone and lead to conflicts between engineers, architects and designers due to manual input of structural elements in an architectural model. The project entails creating a detailed 3D model of the building “NUST C3 Apartments” and designing it in Robot structures. Afterward, it focuses on the integration of the Revit 3D model of a building with Robot Structures and Navisworks, where the Revit model will be designed and reinforcement will be added to it, then the model will be used to make BOQs in Naviswork. This integration intends to streamline collaboration between engineers, architects and designers to increase productivity during the structural design and analysis. Additionally, this paper aims to 5D cost estimation and auto-generation of Bill of Quantities in Navisworks through the Revit model. This will help to reduce errors in cost estimation since BOQs provide a detailed insight into materials and quantities required for the construction of the project, making a considerable positive impact on the construction industry.
