This study aims to explore the effectiveness of integrating Gimkit, a gamified learn ing platform, into mathematics courses to enhance student engagement and learn ing experiences, with a focus on digital learning assessment. This study employs a
quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest comparison to evaluate the impact of
Gimkit, a gamified learning tool, on student engagement and learning outcomes in pub lic and private universities. The study involves 80 students enrolled in the 3rd semester
of a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics program, with an equal number of participants
from both public and private universities. Over a nine-week period, Gimkit was in tegrated into the curriculum, and data were collected through pre- and post-surveys.
The post-survey data, specifically, were analyzed using multivariate statistical meth ods to examine differences in student engagement and learning outcomes between the
two university types. Gamified learning platforms, such as Gimkit, offer a promising
solution by infusing elements of games into educational contexts to promote active par ticipation and motivation. However, the efficacy of integrating Gimkit specifically for
digital learning assessment in mathematics courses remains under explored. Leveraging
Gimkit’s leader board feature, performance metrics were meticulously tracked to assess
the impact of Gimkit integration on student engagement and learning outcomes effect
size measurements and the efficacy of Gimkit in stimulating meaningful discussions
among students and instructors, leading to a deeper understanding of course mate rial. The findings of this study highlight the potential of Gimkit as a valuable tool
for invigorating digital learning assessment in mathematics education. By integrating
Gimkit into instructional practices, educators can effectively engage students, foster
collaborative learning environments, and ultimately improve learning outcomes. These
results contribute to the growing body of research on gamified learning platforms and
underscore their importance in modern educational settings. |
