dc.description.abstract This book is the culmination of the experience gained by me while teaching students at various levels—diploma, degree and AMIE. I have always felt that most of the available textbooks on surveying and levelling take up the subject in a round-about and confusing way. In this book, I have tried to explain topics in a direct manner, avoiding unnecessary explanations and jargon. Coverage The book covers the syllabi of diploma, degree and AMIE courses and a few topics are also included to aid practising engineers. The examination papers of various boards of technical education and AMIE have been included in the appendix along with hints and solutions. Features • Field procedures of different types of surveying are illustrated in a systematic manner. • Short questions with their answers provided at the end of each chapter to aid students during the viva voce examination. • Objective and multiple-choice questions given at the end of each chapter. • A separate chapter on project surveys is included. • Survey of tunnelling, docks, harbours and airports incorporated. • Hydrographic surveying discussed for observation in en_US
