Abstract:
Adult diapering is a necessity for individuals who are bedridden, especially those suffering from
incontinence. It's a reality faced by caregivers and family members who care for such individuals
at home or in medical facilities. Despite being a routine part of care, it comes with several
challenges such as maintaining hygiene, managing physical stress, and handling privacy
concerns. This Literature review will shed light on the various aspects of adult diapering, the
problems faced by caregivers, existing and innovative solutions that have been made and that can
make this task easier and more efficient. SwiftChange is a proposed design solution to this
critical problem that lifts the burden away from caretakers allowing an easier process of
diapering and weight-management. This allows the task to be performed by a single individual
instead of requiring multiple assistants for a simple task which not only provides ease to the
caretaker but the patient as well.
