dc.description.abstract In earlier years the only way humans could communicate was face to face, so they could only interact with the people that were immediately around them.. Now technology has advanced to the extent that society has become globalized and people are able to maintain connections despite being separated long distances. People are now also able to start and maintain relationships online with people that live on the other side of the globe who they may never be able to meet face to face. Despite these technological advancements people still prefer face to face relationships to long distance ones. The findings from this study suggest that couples miss each other during special occasions, hence a device that helps improve the experience of celebrating long distance has been proposed. Existing devices designed to help people in long distance relationships are single purpose and not affordable, hence they are not practical. The proposed device is multifunctional and helps maintain the emotional connection between the couple. en_US
