Abstract:
The project Bulwark Communication System will provide a means to communicate secure data from any place over any network and by using any cellular device via an aux port. If improved upon and used, it can save the Armed Forces millions that they would otherwise have to invest in changing their landline PASCOM services into cellular. This project also has scope in public sectors as well, especially for security companies that are tasked to secure other people’s data and communication. We have explored many methods of fulfilling our task. The main challenge we encountered was a real time system, with minimum to zero delay. By trying out various types of encryption techniques we found that stream cyphers were the best approach. Being a semi hardware and software project, we had to really know what’s what when it came to configuration. Without the proper synchronization between the hardware components and the embedded software, the entire project is meaningless. The end product will be completely platform independent with respect to the mobile phone used (only requirement will be Aux port) or the SIM used for GSM.
