dc.description.abstract Early detection of breast cancer in women is proper and effective treatment. This, however, requires precisely locating the position and size of tumor in breast since tumor is very small in its early stage. Observing the variation in dielectric properties of breast tissues provides an effective and alternate method to achieve these objectives compared to their conventional counterparts such as Mammography, X- ray, Ultrasound etc. A novel patch antenna is proposed that ca be used for detection of breast cancer. After verifying the measured and simulated elements of single element we extend our design to 1x4 and 4x4 antenna elements. The use of smaller number of feeds helps to get better results. the proposed antenna has smaller dimensions that make the design more practical and cost effective to use. So, a patch antenna with coaxial feed using FR-4 substrate and 1x4, 4x4 array is proposed. Key Words: X-ray, Ultrasound, Mammography, Breast tumor. en_US
