The Hand Gestures Controlled Classroom Environment project aims to replace
physical mouse devices with a hand gesture-based control system for performing
all cursor functions. This project utilizes computer vision techniques and machine
learning algorithms to recognize hand gestures and control the cursor movements
accordingly. With the help of a camera attached to a computer, the system captures
and analyses the hand gestures of the user, and performs actions like clicking,
scrolling, and dragging. This system can be implemented in a classroom
environment, where the teacher can control the presentations and other multimedia
materials by just using hand gestures, eliminating the need for a physical mouse.
The project has been implemented using Python programming language, OpenCV,
and Media pipe libraries. The proposed system can be a useful tool where
traditional input methods can be difficult or impractical in certain classroom
contexts, such as when presenting or teaching from a distance. |
