dc.description.abstract This thesis explores the intersection of spirituality, culture at the historic Bari Imam Shrine in Islamabad, Pakistan. The project aims not only to elucidate the Sufi legacy of Bari Imam but also to address pressing community needs such as a communal hub, educational center and means for an economic upswing. The envisioned Center is a multifaceted endeavor. It serves as a vocational training center, offering Quran classes and sewing classes to empower the local community with both spiritual knowledge and practical skills, thereby contributing to local economic development. Furthermore, the center houses a museum dedicated to the rich heritage of Sufism, specifically the life of Bari Imam, providing visitors with an immersive experience that educates and rekindles a passion for the arts associated with this spiritual tradition. Beyond its local impact, the center aspires to become a global platform for scholarly discourse by providing architectural space suitable for international Islamic summits and conferences. This strategic location in Islamabad, the capital, is poised to facilitate a deeper understanding of the religious landscape and its diverse traditions on the international stage. In essence, this thesis proposes the transformation of Bari Imam Shrine into a cultural and intellectual hub by integrating Sufism, architectural preservation, and community development. It offers an innovative model for heritage preservation, community empowerment, and Sufism revival in Islamabad and beyond, with the potential to inspire similar initiatives. en_US
