dc.description.abstract The project seeks to employ the concept of private blockchain in the enhancement of a safeguarded and productive FIR registration system. Since FIRs is managed under this system then the users of this system are the faculties who manage FIRs and they include the complainant, the duty officer, the investigation officer and the Station House Officer (SHO). Initially the complainants report the cases by filing the complaints through the system, and continued getting feedback of their complaint status. Detectives on duty are mandated with the task of checking and validating the FIR then adding to the blockchain to make sure that the information is not altered and it lacks no missing data. Subsequent to the occurrence of the case and its solving the investigation officers append to the FIR whatever he or she feels is desirable in it and also the evidence of that occurrence. It also creates the final writings of a FIR when the FIR is closed, which formally signals the end of the investigation process. The system is based on private block chain to make it reliable; thus the system has the security and privacy characteristic related to the block chain, however these characteristic do not exist in the public block chains. Each person in the network has all the function and rights set up and therefore only the allowed persons in the system can be allowed. This is impressive because it means that when using the different processes in the system such as the update FIR status, or for the granting of permits as mentioned above, these ones are automatic in the smart contract.Data privacy is one of the main factors that should be taken into account, as the sensitive data in the FIRs is encrypted and stored in a secure place. The authentication mechanisms are the means by which efficient the system of user authentication is to prevent the unauthorized access. On the other hand, a friendly interface to the system enables the stakeholders to interact with it seamlessly. A permanent audit trail which is able to keep a track of all the activities done in the system, thus, it becomes easy to establish who did what and when. The issue of scalability is solved to make the way for the increasing number of FIRs and users in the future. The comprehensive testing and security procedures are applied to find and solve the possible problems, so the system will comply with the high security requirements. In summary, the proposed FIR registration system uses private blockchain technology to simplify the FIR process, thus, the three of them that are transparency, security and efficiency are gained. en_US
