dc.description.abstract Radio incompatibility is one of the major issues in the present-day world. In the modern world where radio communication is a significant source used for communicating let it be Law Enforcing Agencies (LEAs), airport security and traffic control, mega-development & exploration agencies, police, firefighters, medical services and transportation, disaster management, ambulances. In order for these authorities to function efficiently during times of emergencies or disasters, when mobile telecom services are not available, the only mean of communication for different agencies is radio. Therefore, radio incompatibility cannot be ignored. The aim of this project is to design and implement an indigenous gateway for the audio interoperability of radios from different OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers) that is user-friendly and cost-efficient. It works using a voice-activated switch (VOX) for the detection of the voice signal. The message or voice signal from the radio operating at the different net is given as input to the gateway. The signal is processed and transmitted to a radio operating at a different net. en_US
