dc.description.abstract In this project, we focused on the design, simulation, and fabrication of a miniature Filtering antenna (Filtenna) to enhance miniaturization and efficiency in wireless communication systems. The innovative Filtering Antenna integrates antenna and filter functionality into one unit, reducing the overall size and minimizing signal losses. Focusing on a 2.45 GHz center frequency, the design uses a Chebyshev 0.043dB equiripple microstrip hairpin bandpass filter for optimal frequency selectivity, integrated with a microstrip patch antenna. Initially, the filter and antenna were designed separately to observe their conventional response, then co-design was employed to realize Filtering antenna. Implemented on ROGERS 4350B, 60mils substrate, measured results showed a 93.51 MHz bandwidth at a center frequency of 2.46 GHz and the antenna with a 5.9dBi gain at a center frequency of 2.45 GHz. The integrated filtering antenna achieved a 97 MHz bandwidth and a 6dBi gain at 2.47 GHz, demonstrating potential for more compact and efficient wireless communication systems en_US
