dc.description.abstract Cement industry in Pakistan is expanding radically. As cement is the basic component of concrete and its essential properties such as strength, durability etc. primarily depend upon manufacturing process, chemical composition of raw material, and plant used in manufacturing process. Therefore there is a need of evaluating samples from different cement companies to establish their suitability as construction material. All Pakistan cement manufacturer association consists of 19 members and 5 nonmembers. The manufacturing units are broadly divided into North and South zone. In each zone manufacturing units are located at different places and therefore have different sources of natural raw materials. These different raw materials have significant effect on the properties of cement. In addition each manufacturing unit is from a different country/technology level. The quality/standard of the plant has significant bearing on the quality and cost of end product i.e. Cement. en_US
