Abstract:
Presently water purification management in
Pakistan has not been carried out in a sufficient and proper
manner in regard of purifying it from all the hazardous
components present in it and also not up to the World Health
Organization (WHO) set standards; because of which the problem
is growing year by year and as a result, people are suffering. This
problem had hit the world in general and Pakistan in particular.
One of the chief problems is being the presence of arsenic
content in the drinking water. This study has been carried out to
study the effects of arsenic contaminated drinking water of the
Risalpur Cantt and to suggest the probable measures that need to
be done. The study will ultimately suggest cost effective and
efficient arsenic removal techniques, which can be adopted in
order to deal with the arsenic crisis in areas where people are
deprived of clean and pure water. It also suggests that people in
such areas should be educated about the hazards they face due
to arsenic contamination of water.
