Application of Project Management Tools and Techniques on a Real Time Building Const Project

Abstract

Project management is the discipline of planning, organizing, motivating, and controlling resources to achieve specific goal. Management is an important part of any construction project. Without proper project management the successful completion of project is always doubtful especially from the prospective of project management constraints of time, scope, budget and quality. A Project is an organization of people dedicated to specific objective or purpose. Project generally involves large expense, unique or high risk undertakings which have to be completed by a certain date, for a certain amount of money, with expected level of performance. At a minimum, all projects need to have well defined objectives and sufficient resources to carry out all the required tasks. We shall be practicing the project management techniques and tools on a real project of construction of multi storey building. The scope of our study will comprise of Estimation of civil work i.e concrete work, steel work and masonry block work followed by planning and scheduling of the project on Primavera P6. Analysis of Project by Earned Value Management at certain point in time of construction.
