dc.description.abstract Pakistan lacks in incorporating technological advancements to control crime rate. The purpose of this project was to design a system for the public to report crimes, receive crime alerts and see what other crimes have been reported in their neighborhood. Additionally, police can use this to act on the reports as swiftly as possible by receiving these crime reports and visual.izing them on the map in real time. Police can also use this to study and predict the crime patterns. We collected data of crime reports from the police station of Allama Iqbal Town, Lahore. This data was converted to digital format so that it could be used to study crime patterns of that area using machine learning algorithms. These crime patterns can be visualized on the web portal we developed for police. The mobile application we developed for public can be used to report a crime and receive an alert via push notification whenever a crime is reported in their neighborhood. Police will receive these crime reports on the web portal, the crimes reports are shown as a marker on the map and more details about the crimes can be seen in the· marker po pup. Hence along with increasing the crime awareness, it will make the crime reporting more efficient, fast and easy. Plus it will be a great help for law enforcement agencies for controlling crimes. This way, both the police and public can play their part for ensuring peace in the region. en_US
