dc.description.abstract With Increased urbanization, cities are now becoming more vulnerable to criminal and terrorist activities due to lake of adequate and intelligent security and surveillance system. Traditional security systems comprising of guards and police patrolling are not sufficient and therefore the need of the time is to step ahead and deploy more advanced and reliable systems which simultaneously reduces the human workforce and is yet affordable for even the private housing societies to deploy. Therefore our Basic idea is to come up with a system that can effectively surveille or monitor large areas with the real time response capability for security control and emergency management. Our end product is a cost-effective and labor optimized intelligent surveillance system with a capability of generating automated alerts in case of any suspicious activity in sensitive areas. Our web application also has the capability of working offline in an intranet environment. It uses CCTV cameras to surveille objects of interest, such as people and vehicles , and keeps track of their trajectories in a database as well as represents them onto a map in real time in an efficient way. en_US
