Abstract:
In a dynamically changing economy, where emerging trends in technology spread like wild
fire, organizations need to rapidly adapt and implement new strategies to build businesses
and market their products. But no matter how good the product is, without effective
marketing, it will never be able to make the impact it is supposed to, and will fail to acquire
ample investment. This is exactly the market niche that was exploited in this project 'We
are VR+' and its multiple products, namely, Interactive Urban Planning VR, VR plus &
Web VR. This project focused on provision of superior visualization techniques to clients
through the use of three main technologies, Geographic Information Systems (GIS),
Satellite Remote Sensing and Building Information Modelling (BIM) combined with the
power of 3D Mapping and Virtual Reality. A unique combination of these technologies
provides the capability of enhanced visualization and breaks the barriers of limited,
Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). HCI is of vital importance for creating software
packages and to increase this interaction by immersing the person inside the world of the
map or product in virtual reality. Virtual reality is a massive industry with amazing growth
possibilities and is solely designed to increase HCI. This research focused on creating
immersive virtual reality based environments for architectural visualization offering both
in-door and outdoor navigation capabilities and can be used on multiple platforms like
android, web and desktop based systems which allows the user the most flexibility.
Furthermore, easy methodology and clearly defined procedures allows easy learning and
implementation of various technologies used in this project. The output of the project can
be applied to various industries and sectors such as construction, military, urban, medical
applications, property, space applications, product marketing, educational programs. The
use of two main programming languages along with very little use of other programming
languages further helps make this methodology even more easier for the end users.
