Islamabad Dashboard" materializes the concept of city dashboards; this
platform has multiple GIS based services and applications to help the citizens
better understand the city. There are 12 applications in total, deployed on a
web interface, which are related to citizen's facilitation in one way or the other.
Some of the applications are directly related to the city information in various
aspects, like Islamabad Housing gives an overview of the land prices in
various sectors of Islamabad and City Development application gives a
visualization of he current, past and future development projects in the city.
Likewise, Islamabad Greenery provides an outline of how Islamabad has
evolved in the recent few years in terms of vegetation and forestry. Few more
applications integrated in the dashboard are Islamabad Overview, ICER,
Transit, Urban Sprawl and Weather. All of the dashboard applications are
worthy in their respective domains but there is always the potential of feeding
and processing more spatial data, which is ultimately going to escalate the
worth and effectiveness of all the applications. The overall purpose of this
project is to efficiently manage the city affairs and involve citizens and
government for feedback on the situation of city matters and proficiently plan
the future development.
