dc.description.abstract Piles foundation is the type of deep foundation used to transfer axial load, resist lateral and tensile forces from superstructure and sub-structure and even in case when shallow foundations cannot be supported by loose deposits. In order to estimate the total axial load carrying capacity of pile, geotechnical engineers usually rely on empirical design methods based upon site specific correlations and at time the pile capacity is estimated also from fundamentals soil variables. These empirical relations and equations available in literature are of complex nature mostly involved cumbersome procedures. Moreover the prediction of these methods produces divergent results. This software developed will assist geotechnical engineers and students of foundation engineering classes to perform the limit design and analysis single axially piles interactively. The computer software incorporates three basic approaches to estimate the axial load capacity of pile: capacity calculation from fundamental soil variables (sand, clay), from SPT result and from CPT results. This Computer Program would help save valuable time, for assisting in quick preliminary designs and analysis of singly loaded piles and insure accuracy by comparing various methods of pile analysis and design available in literature. en_US
