Abstract:
The notion of home is an expression for the physical and psychological needs, to have a base from which
to comprehend the world we live in. The spaces are appropriated by very humanly activities; hence the
association with the spaces grows stronger. Home embodies experiences that are purely derived from
the human imprint and desire of the inhabitants. Space and objects that triggers the associative quality
generates a comfortable realm for the users, where they feel closer to home. A communal space that
portrays such nature will be more grounded in the society. To appropriate the communal interactions
with the associative nature of home is the outcome of thesis.
On a communal scale the perception of immediate meaning of home changes. Home for many provides
a better understanding, as a member for each other. The idea of Home for many offers a different
perspective. Through balancing the parameters that triggers attachment with spaces with the communal
nature of space, such space is desired that mutually embraces the users. Increased human imprint will
allow the users to relate more to the space.
