dc.description.abstract Over time, the world has progressed and developed exponentially in terms of the pace and depth of the evolution of human ways of life determined by technological innovations and interactions between evolutionary factors (social and economical). This has built up a contemporary state of ever-increasing progress and developments in all fields of life in which time and money are the biggest commodities of life. Leisure, in the earlier civilizations such as Greek and Roman, was in integral part of man's lifestyle. Monumental structures such as the Coliseum and Sydney Opera house were built enhancing recreation activities. However, leisure which was once free time dedicated to enjoyment has now become a commodity bought with money and time. This contemporary existence has lost the essence of a healthy lifestyle and has resulted in a distressed and unsatisfactory introverted individualistic lifestyle. The products of this lifestyle have resulted in merely designing of open spaces as just parks or playground which have little attraction and positive effect on the growth of an individual. This thesis project aims to research on re-establishing the importance of recreation facilities in the contemporary lifestyle of man in a way that not only it revitalizes the human health, moving away from a self obsessed individualistic lifestyle but also becomes an essential communal space enhancing the experience of leisure in very man's life through the concepts of synergy in architecture, in which multiple spaces work together to provide an experience and the society where different individuals interact and work together bringing back the communal nature of the society which is slowly and gradually disappearing. en_US
