dc.description.abstract Architecture has the power to affect each of its users. Collectively, it can bring positive change or development in a society. I believe that this potential of architecture should be explored in the social setting of Pakistan where there are numerous social issues that present themselves as niches for improvement. One of these is lack of education. Illiteracy affects the mentality and behavior of every individual citizen and therefore has an impact on all aspects of a society. It is important to devise a solution that makes quality education available and affordable for the underprivileged sector of the society, as they suffer the most in this regard. The thesis explores architecture as a humanitarian act, bringing a community together by providing an institute that and aids the society in helping its own self by educating its next generation. Project Ul«s ; Pushtu for Institute; is designed in the setting of Peshawar.jl+ proposes an architectural design as well as a maintenance system that is a promising solution to the problem of illiteracy. It provides a platform for people to collaborate and generate a sustainable model of an institute that imparts knowledge and social empowerment, thus ensuring the character building of next generations. en_US
