dc.description.abstract The aim of the project is to study, explore and investigate the tangible and intangible material and immaterial aspects of the Rock salt found at Khewra, and to then use the conclusions drawn from those studies as a premise for the architectural language developed for the building. The tangible aspects of this study depend highly on the physical attributes of Salt rock - things such as color and grain, shape, the way it cuts and fits together, texture, cleavage, luster and hardness - things that directly influence the spatial ambiance and mood of the space. The intangible aspects of Salt Rock, its morphological and qualitative characteristics (healing, chemical etc.) will influence the building typology and its programme. This project aims at studying the material for the sole purpose of finding out, en_US
