dc.description.abstract The term Mise en Scene (French) translates literally to "put on stage." The idea behind the project is to harness posssible avenues of implementation of cinematic techniques in an architectural context to showcase the experience of spaces as in a movie. The techniques used will not only be limited to the technical aspects of film-making but will also put into use the concepts of narrative development, framing and character development. The building itself is to act as a film. The basic development will be derived from a selfgenerated narrative, which will put the user in the position of a protagonist, with other users acting as supporting characters. The challenge is to ensure the experiential definition of spaces specifically and the building holistically such that each user automatically assumes the lead role in their position within the building's narrative. en_US
