Home Surveillance System Based on IoT

Abstract

In today’s world, Internet of things has become a hot topic. It is a recent technology that creates a global network of machines and devices that are capable of communicating with each other via means of internet. The data can then be analyzed and processed, so that useful information can be collected, and timely decisions can be made. IoT has done wonders in various fields, may it be home automation, smart devices, automated automobiles, industry, agriculture, and healthcare sector. In our project we have aimed towards home automation. Our objective is to create a smart home by deploying IoT devices which includes a core device, various sensors, and a surveillance camera. Sensors are used to collect environmental parameters and send them to an online database. These sensors are interfaced with an IoT core device. The collected data can then be viewed on smart phone with the help of an android application. The surveillance camera will provide live streaming on the smartphone and at the same time it will be used for home security and surveillance by using facial recognition in artificial intelligence
